Wesco Waste Management Facility (Pty) Ltd  (Wesco) is in the process of applying for a license to operate a landfill and process waste, inclusive of very high risk hazardous waste, on a site very close to Melkbosstrand.

The Melkbosstrand Ratepayers Association has established a Task Team to proactively oppose this development in the interest of the community and surrounding areas. This task team consists of volunteers, inclusive of subject matter experts who have identified the health and environmental risks associated with the proposed development.

The waste management facility planned by Wesco will be detrimental to our health and the environment at large, with devastating and unacceptable consequences in the medium to long term.

Join the fight by adding your voice and providing a mandate for all possible lawful actions to be taken to prevent this from happening:

I hereby provide the Melkbosstrand Ratepayers Association and/or their agent with a mandate to represent me in all actions embarked upon, including but not limited to opposing the licence applications and petitioning to local government and/or parliament, to stop Wesco Waste Management Facility (Pty) Ltd from establishing and operating a waste management facility on Portion 1 of the Farm Brakkefontein No.32.
